Piranha Sponsors Bolton Lads & Girls Club In Latest Charity Adventure
Posted on: June 2015
When Piranha was asked to sponsor Bolton’s Lads and Girls Club on their latest charity fundraiser, we were more than happy to help! The riders set off on the French Alps Cycling Challenge yesterday, where they will be riding all the way from Geneva to Nice.
Brandon Pilling, who is the Director in charge of fundraising at the club, will be cycling a total of 580.6 miles over the week long challenge. He will be joined by 26 other riders, who are all taking part to help raise money for Bolton’s Lads & Girls Club.
Our clients, Assembly Solutions Ltd, are also getting involved with the French Alps Cycling Challenge. Their MD, Graham Balshaw, and Sales Director, Gareth Balshaw, have joined in with the fundraising and have travelled to France to take part with the challenge.
The money that is raised from this event will be going towards a great cause. The funds will be used to create a transport system which will make it easier for young people that live on the outskirts of Bolton to get to the club. At the moment, many kids are struggling to get there as public transport can be both difficult and expensive to use.
Despite the slightly chaotic first day, where the electronic maps were sending riders in different directions, each rider is making great progress.
They were also caught in torrential downpour from 1.30pm until 6.30 pm, which didn’t make riding any easier! Hopefully the sunshine will make an appearance today so that they can carry on with their journey without getting soaked!
Over the next few days, they will be faced with heights of up to 76,032 ft, which will no doubt be challenging for all of the riders. Piranha wants to wish them luck with the rest of the journey and we look forward to hearing all about it when they return!
